Tour Code: 2NHTH Trekking trip to Huay Mae Saliang (3 Days / 2 Nights)
Get away from the noise and heat of the city and join our nature trek to beautiful Mae Saliang in Kaeng Krachan National Park, the
largest national park in Thailand.
Day 1 Hua Hin / Cha Am – Kaeng Krachan National Park – Huay Mae Saliang Camp
Gather at Cha-am, Petchaburi Club at 7.30am and depart for Kaeng Krachan National Park. Upon arrival at the
Tourist Information Center in the National Park, visit the exhibition hall and then travel by car to Kaeng
Krachan forest of 27 km. Upon arrival at 11am, begin to trek up to Huay Mae Saliang camp, following the
course of the creek. Break for lunch at noon and continue on along the creek, through evergreen forest. Along
the way, keep an eye for strange and some rare plants grown along the creek. Reach a suitable place to stop
for the night and set up camp next to the creek. Prepare dinner, freshen up and relax a while. Evening enjoy a
comfortable night sleep in your hammock deep in the forest of Kaeng Krachan National Park.
Day 2 Huay Mae Saliang Camp
Breakfast at 7am then begin a morning trek to observe birds and different plants. Look out for wild elephant
or gaur tracks along the way. Break for lunch at noon and continue to trek to the low-land which is home to
many kinds of wild birds; ideal habitat for bird watching. At about 4p.m, set up camp and help prepare dinner.
Evening leisure around campfire or simply relax and fall asleep to the sound of the nearby stream.
Day 3 Huay Mae Saliang Camp – Ban Krang Camp
After breakfast begin your final trek along small creeks and up hills look out for wildlife along the way.
Arrive at Ban-krang camp at noon for lunch following your return transfer back to Hua Hin or Cha Am.

Pranburi river basin – source of Petchaburi rive. Trek in Kaeng Krachan, the largest national park in Thailand. See waterfalls,
wildlife, great spot for birds watching and superb views on this excellent nature trek, but the highlight must be hearing the
gibbons singing in the tree tops.
Day 1
08.00 a.m. Meet at the Tourist Information Center in Kaeng Krachan National Park.
08.30 a.m. Leave by bus to Ban-krang Camp (km 15), Pranburi river basin, the best place for bird watching in
Thailand.
10.00 a.m. Arrive at Ban-krang camp, set up tents and stow your luggage.
11.00 a.m. We start our trek along the nature trail near Huay Pranburi stopping for lunch on the way.
4.00 p.m. Back to the campsite for a well deserved rest in the peaceful surroundings of the forest.
6.00 p.m. Have dinner whilst observing the nightlife of the animals. See thousands of stars in the sky.
Day 2
06.00 a.m. Breakfast to the sound of birdsong before leaving for Phanoen Thung Camp.
08.00 a.m. Arrive at Phanoen Thung Camp. From a nearby viewpoint take a look out over the mist covered
tree tops, a mystical sight. Continue the 4.5 km nature trek to Tor-Thip Waterfall.
11.00 p.m. Arrive at Tor-Thip Waterfall, set up camp at the ninth level of the waterfall.
12.00 p.m. Have lunch. Take a refreshing paddle in the stream which flows down from Phanoen Thung Hill,
1,207 meters above sea level.
1.00 p.m. This afternoon we walk to KU Camp, at the junction of Huay Tor-Thip and Petchaburi River. A very
pretty trail passing a waterfall so bring your camera.
5.00 p.m. Back to the camp. Relax or help to prepare the dinner.
6.00 p.m. Dine in the calm of the forest. You may meet with an uninvited guest as leeches come in the
stillness night! You will also hear the sound of cicadas and other insects as you sit around the
campfire and sip your hot bed time drink.
Day 3
07.00 a.m. After breakfast take a stroll through the forest and listen to the eerie and wondrous calls of the
white-handed gibbon in the tree tops. An unforgettable experience.
08.00 a.m. Pack your luggage before the walk back to 36km.
12.00 p.m. We start the return journey home.
Tour Code: 2NHCP Conquering Phanoen Thung Peak (3 Days / 2 Nights)
Trekking up Phanoen Thung, at 1,207m it’s the highest mountain in Kaeng Krachan, the largest national park in Thailand. On the
way you will see hundreds of butterflies; beautiful evergreen forest; possibly some hornbill birds and big gaurs if you are lucky.
Day 1
06:00 a.m. Leave Kaeng-krachan Tourist Information Center for Phanoen Thung Camp (km 30).
08:00 a.m. Arrive at the camp. Breakfast and make last preparations for the trek to Phanoen Thung peak,
the highest point of Kaeng-krachan National Park at 1,207 metres above sea level. The trail we
follow is an old animal route on the ridge of foot hills. You will find various flora along the way,
notice how they change and be come more dense as you as you go deeper into the forested
mountain.
12:00 p.m. Lunch at the base of Phanoen Thung mount where we find the only spring in the area.
1:00 p.m. Refreshed after lunch, begin the climb to the summit. On the way is an important hornbill-
resting site.
5:00 p.m. Arrive at the camp area on Phanoen Thung peak. Time to relax.
6:30 p.m. Take dinner together at the highest point of Petchburi province. Lots of tasty food to replace your
energy used on the trek. with less drinking water. Share your experiences of the climb with a
sense of having conquered the mountain. Hot coffee before a well-deserved sleep in your cozy
hammock.
Day 2
06:30 a.m. In the early morning, enjoy the panoramic views of the misty sea all around whilst sipping your
hot coffee.
07:30 a.m. After breakfast do a little bird watching and explore the wonderful forest of Kaeng-krachan.
12:00 p.m. Lunch
1:00 p.m. Your personal time to do whatever you want - bird watching, exploring the forest, or relaxing
under the widest sky you have ever seen.
5:30 p.m. Enjoy the beauty of the sun set until the last light of day.
6:30 p.m. Dinner and then relax with your new friends around the campfire.
Day 3
06:30 a.m. Awake to the gloriously cool weather on the high mountain. If you’re really lucky, you may see
some of the rare birds native to this part of Thailand.
07:30 a.m. Breakfast and then off to explore the area of Guar Lawn. Guars habitually come here seasonally.
08:30 a.m. Stow your luggage and travel back to Phanoen Thung camp.
12:00 a.m. Enjoy your last lunch on Phanoen Thung hill.
4:00 p.m. Reach the camp and back to the center. The end of the journey.
