Jungle Treks usually last from 2 to 7 days, taking visitors through forested mountains and high valleys and meadows and include
visits to remoter high altitude hill tribe settlements for overnight stays. The best guides are hill tribe youths who customarily
speak English, Thai and at least three tribal dialects. Treks commonly feature travel by foot, sometimes by boat, elephant-back,
horse-back or jeep. Frequently a combination of two or three modes of transportation.

Visitors should always remember :
Respect hill tribe beliefs and religious symbols and structures.
Dress modestly. Hill tribe people are generally modest and inappropriate attire may offend them.
Wear sensible clothing to protect your limbs and sleep under a mosquito net at night. Malaria is a real threat, and
sensible precautions should be taken to avoid it.
Ask permission before photographing someone. Some villages do permit photography
Avoid narcotics, essentially everything from soft drugs such as marijuana to hard drugs (opium and heroin) during
travel and at hill tribe villages.
Avoid trading western medicines and articles of clothing. Contributions to their welfare, (items such as pens, paper,
needles, thread, cloth and material used for embroidery) are perfectly acceptable.

DAY 1

Depart the hotel early in the morning to San Patong village to visit the local market. This

will be an

interesting experience to see the lifestyle of the local people. Our guide will purchase some

fresh food,

vegetable and fruits from the market for your lunch today. You may also want to get some

last minute

supplies before venturing out to the hill tribes. Continue your journey to a Karen village at

Mae Sapok to

explore the lifestyle of the hill tribe village. You may want to try to talk to the villagers or

go to the waterfall.

Our guide will prepare a delicious lunch for you with the help of the villagers. After

lunch, you will need to

trek along the Mae Wang River to Pah Mon village. En-route, you will pass a

few waterfalls. Enjoy yourself at

the waterfall swimming or just relaxing. Dinner will be cooked at Pah

Mon village and overnight at the village.

DAY 2

Wake up early to observe the morning activities of the village folks. Watch them go about

their

work as our guide prepares breakfast for you. After breakfast, bid farewell to the villagers and

trek to

Morakod waterfall. Then take a truck to the elephant camp for a one hour safari through the

jungle. After

lunch, take a truck ride along the Mae Wang River to the rafting point. Paddle a bamboo

raft along the Mae

Wang River back to your pick-up point. Your transfer will be waiting for you at the

end point to send you back

to the hotel.

DAY 1 Chiang Mai– Mae Hong Sorn by land (D)

Depart Chiangmai for Mae Hong Sorn by car along the Chiangmai, Pai, Mae Hong Son highway. En-

route, you

will pass by a lot of hill tribe and villages. Make a short stop at a hot-spring for a little while

to see this

natural feature. You may want to try your hand at cooking an egg in the hot water.

After lunch, proceed onto Mae Hong Sorn with another stop at a pre-historic cave along the way to

see

historical painting. Take a raft inside the cave along a small creek to experience magnificent

scenery inside

the cave.

Afterwards drive on to Ma Hong Sorn. The drive to Mae Hong Son is very scenic with many

plantations and fruit

orchards along the way. As it is also in a mountainous region there are also

many bends and turns in the

road. Dinner and overnight at Imperial Tara Mae Hong Sorn.

DAY 2 Mae Hong Sorn - Chiang Mai by flight (B, L)

After breakfast proceed to an elephant camp for an elephant safari through the unspoiled jungle

(approx 2

hrs) Then take a boat ride up-river along the borders of Burma and Thailand. Visit the

Padong Long Neck hill

tribe village to see the fascinating long-neck women. Return to the city and

After lunch visit 2 strikingly

different temples, Wat Pra That Doi Kong Mu located on the hilltop and

Wat Jong Kum. Transfer back to the

airport for you flight back to Chiangmai.

Transfer to Chiangmai airport for flight to Mae Hong Sorn.
Upon arrival, check in at Imperial Tara Mae Hong Son Hotel for the night. Dinner is served at the hotel.

DAY 2         Mae Hong Sorn - Chiang Mai by flight (B, L)
After breakfast you will be treated to a full day’s tour including visits to a local Long Neck Hilltribe, enjoy a boat ride
along River Pai, City Temple Tour, visit to the Fish Cave and elephant ride.
Transfer back to the airport for you flight back to Chiangmai.
